Datuk Hasmi bin Hasnan, aged 54, was appointed as our Non-Independent Executive Chairman on 29 February 2008. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Estate Management from London South Bank University, United Kingdom in 1978. He is a member of The Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, a Senior Certified Valuer with International Real Estate Institute, United States of America and a member of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI). He began his career in 1979 as a valuer in the Land and Survey Department of Sarawak. Since 1982, he has been involved in a wide range of businesses, including valuation, project management, property development and management, timber, construction and publishing. He has been the Managing Director of Naim since 25 July 2003 as well as Non-independent Non-Executive Chairman of Sarawak Plantation Berhad since 30 August 2005. He also holds various directorships in other companies. Datuk Hasmi is mainly responsible for the overall strategic business direction of our Group.
